Free help for Cupertino households buying their own coverage. Between jobs, cashing out stock, or leaving tech early? We help you estimate next year's income, compare Covered California plans, and look up your doctors. California runs its own exchange, Covered California. We can help with plans on it only if we are certified with it.

Common questions
Most Cupertino families get coverage through work. These questions come up when that changes.
Often, yes. Gains you report on your tax return can raise your household income for the year. A big sale can mean little or no federal tax credit. A tax professional can tell you how your own sales count.
Compare first. COBRA keeps the same plan, but you usually pay the full cost. A Covered California plan may cost less, or more. Leaving a job usually lets you sign up within 60 days.
Not always. Each plan has its own list of doctors and hospitals. We look up your doctors in each plan before you choose.

How we help
We are an independent brokerage, so we don't work for one insurance company. We help you build a yearly income estimate, see what Covered California may offer, and add up premiums and deductibles. Then you choose.
Cupertino households often have pay that arrives in pieces: a base salary, a bonus, and stock that vests on a schedule. When you leave a job, those pieces can stop at different times. We sort them by month so your 2027 estimate reflects what really lands in your account, and so a late vest or sale doesn't surprise you in April.
How it works
Share each person's age and your Cupertino ZIP code.
Salary, severance, and stock sales can all count. We help you list them.
Your doctors and prescriptions go into each search. The pick is yours.

What you get
If your income estimate is too low, you may have to pay back part of a tax credit. After our call, you'll have:
El Camino Health has hospitals in Mountain View and Los Gatos, both a short drive from Cupertino. Search each one by name in a plan's directory.
We are not saying these hospitals are in any plan. Each insurer sets its network, and it can change for 2027.

As of October 19, 2026, under current law, Covered California says open enrollment runs from November 1, 2026, through January 31, 2027. A federal appeal about open enrollment dates is pending (City of Columbus v. Kennedy, 4th Cir. No. 26-1938), with oral argument set for October 30, 2026. Confirm the dates before you enroll. Sign up by December 31, 2026, for coverage that starts January 1. Outside those dates, you usually need a life event, such as losing job coverage or moving.
Yes. As of October 19, 2026, California has its own rule. If you go without qualifying coverage for a month or more, you may owe a penalty on your state tax return unless you qualify for an exemption. The Franchise Tax Board has the details.
You may be able to use COBRA, a Covered California plan, or a private plan. Your income in the years after you stop working drives any tax credit. See our early retiree page for more.
Compare both. Adding yourself to a spouse's plan can be simpler, but the cost to add a family member can be high. A plan of your own may cost less if your income qualifies for help. We price both side by side so you can see the yearly total.
As of October 19, 2026, Covered California says its state premium subsidy for 2027 is for people with income up to 200% of the poverty level. Most Cupertino households earn more than that. You may still get a federal tax credit if your income is low enough.
Open enrollment starts November 1
